After twenty years of living in Fillmore and two years of prayerful discernment through the Vinia Church Planting Network, Tony and Katie Spore have received approval to plant Fillmore Missionary Church — a gospel-centered community focused on reaching the growing families and neighborhoods of Fillmore, California.

Fillmore is a city in transition. New neighborhoods like the Bridges have brought an influx of young families, many of whom commute outside the city and remain disconnected from any local church. While faithful congregations exist in Fillmore, significant numbers of residents have no meaningful connection to the gospel or Christian community.

The vision for Fillmore Missionary Church is a return to gospel-centered community — where Scripture is not just heard but engaged deeply, relationships are genuine, and faith is lived out together. The church will grow through home-based Bible studies, discipleship groups, Alpha gatherings for the spiritually curious, and a consistent, loving presence in the neighborhoods of Fillmore.

The ministry will develop in phases — beginning now with prayer, fundraising, and core team formation, followed by the launch of Bible studies and small groups, and ultimately public Sunday worship gatherings by fall 2027.

Tony holds a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary, is a Licensed Pastor through the Missionary Church, and brings over twenty-five years of ministry experience. He and Katie are already deeply embedded in the Fillmore community and eager to see the gospel take root in their city.
